Today's Patriotism

This blog's called "Really Taking America Back." Last week's column is about that, too. And about patriotism. And how they might be the same thing.

How much sense does this make to you?

I keep defending President Obama because he has stated over and over again he can only do so much and we need to be behind him, pushing him in the direction to be a will of the people, not big money. The problem as I see it is people have been trained to be good consumers and lousy citizens. It's so easy to trash government and say it's corrupt and it won't do any good to be active. I am reminded of Ralph Nader's joke;
"What is the difference between apathy and ignorance?" I don't care and I don't know."
Anyone can wave a flag, it takes courage to speak truth to power and stand up for what's right."
When the people lead, the leaders follow.
Thanks for this blog, Jeff!
